Iowa Songs
All available now ( 2008 ) in Buffalo Music Songbook

Although I was not born in Iowa I have acquired a real appreciation for it's natural beauty, it's people, and it's promise. Over the years I have been inspired to write many songs with Iowa themes. When You're Down In Iowa was written in 1985 while riding on a bean bar spraying weeds near Badger. In 1986 it was named the theme song for the Webster County Homecoming '86 program. It is available as sheet music in a piano-vocal-guitar arrangement. Contact me at: mailto:shadric@frontiernet.net

A Bird On the Wing In Iowa was written in 1988 north of Fort Dodge a few miles on the black top near Concordia Cemetery. It was released on cassette-album kid's tape for the Children's Bookshop of Boston, Massachusetts.

The Old Iowa Waltz was co-written in 1996 with composer Dave Hearn here in Fort Dodge for the Iowa Sesquicentennial Celebration. It has been performed by the Frontier Fiddle Band all over the state, solo pianist Dave Hearn at numerous events, the Karl King road band at Washington, DC, the Harmony Brigade barbershop chorus of Fort Dodge, and by Judy and Dean Harcklau with their great community band at the Humboldt Community Chorus show.
It is available as sheet music in a piano-vocal-guitar arrangement by Dave Hearn.
