Haviland Lot Restoration  1997

Northlawn Cemetery  Fort Dodge, Iowa

 

Repaired 7 stones and powerwashed 16 more on the Haviland lots, in the Haviland Section of Northlawn.  This project was done at the request of Vern Scott.

Bottom shows two upright marble markers found flush in the ground.   Dug out of ground, powerwashed, epoxied broken marker, and reset upright in cement foundations.  Rounded off edges of cement bases when they were trowelled.

Top shows a marble upright marker broken off....the bottom stub still in the cement base.   Epoxied the marble pieces together and then reinforced with a little collar of patching cement around the base.  Middle picture shows the uprights braced while the cement dried.
