Hello Nel...

CHORUS

    G                    C                    G                                                    D7

Hello Nel...yea it's me here on the radio...y' never thought I'd make it but I did...

          G              C                    G                    A7            D7             G

Hello Nel...do I sound like Hank Williams ?...Or just another guitar pickin' kid ?

          G                         C                 G                                          D7

1.  Several years ago,  I was workin' down in Tuscon...pumpin' gas and writin' songs all night

   G                            C                 G           A7               D7                G

Nel, she owned the  bar,  right there near the pool hall...I'd go there loose and leave a little bit tight...

     G                                  C             G                                        D7

Nel,  she was a Southern Belle,  brought up in Kentucky...43 with a husband dead and gone

    G                               C                    G           A7               D7                G

And the only station on the radio she played was country...and every now and then she'd sing along...

REPEAT CHORUS

2.  I remember once,  we got to talkin' about Hank Williams...she told me that she'd seen him with his band...

Singin' at a barn dance somewhere down around Paducah...she said he had that crowd right in his hand...

But time,  she moves along,  like the lonesome whipporwhill,  the Lovesick Blues keep playin' in the rain...

I never said goodbye to the sweetest gal in Tuscon...I had to leave and catch that midnight train...

REPEAT CHORUS
